Bruno came into our lives as a bright, gentle puppy and grew into the kind of golden retriever who was always steady, calm, and deeply woven into our family, growing up alongside the kids and quietly supporting us through every season.
Last December, everything changed when he was diagnosed with cancer. We chose to fight, providing all care needed—going through chemotherapy and doing everything we could to give him more time.
But then came the seizures and the devastating reality that it had reached his brain.
On March 31, he was brought to ICU and already in a coma. At around 10pm, he held on just long enough for his big brother to return from camp before rushing to the hospital.
After spending some time with him at ICU, the critical care team told us he was brain dead and could no longer breathe on his own.
In the end, we made our peace—grateful for the years he gave us, and carrying forward what he meant to us.
